Internal Complaints Committee

A.V.C College of Engineering is entrust to provide secured academic and work environment for girl students and women employees. An Internal Complaints Committee has been established in the year 2018 and continues to work since then as per the guidelines given in All India Council for Technical Education No. F. AICTE/WH/2016/01 Regulations, 2016 (Gender Sensitization, Prevention and Prohibition of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students and Redressal of Grievances in Technical Institutions). OBJECTIVES The objectives of the Internal Complaint Committee are as follows:  To create a protected physical and social environment to prevent any act of sexual harassment  To raise awareness on sexual harassment in the campus  To maintain the commitment of the Institute to provide an environment free gender-based discrimination WHAT CONSTITUTES SEXUAL HARASSMENT According to "The Sexual Harassment of Women at work place (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act, 2013" An unwanted conduct with sexual undertones if it occurs or which is persistent and which demeans, humiliates or creates a hostile and intimidating environment and any further adverse consequences and includes any one or more the following unwelcome act or behavior. Any unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature Demand or request for sexual favour Making sexually colored remarks Physical contact and advances Showing pornography
