The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was established in the year 1996 along with the inception of the college. The primary objective of this department is to provide a high quality computer science education to the students across all economic strata. The department offers an undergraduate degree program B.E(CSE) and a postgraduate degree program M.E(CSE). The undergraduate program B.E (CSE) has been accredited by NBA in 2022 for three years. The department has state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, Wi-Fi enabled class rooms and overhead projectors to facilitate e- Learning, a well-equipped seminar hall and a department library.

Teaching-Learning Process

  • Having dedicated and well qualified faculty members the department is providing very good teaching learning system with modern teaching aids.
  • The department organizes guest lectures periodically by inviting reputed academicians or Industry professionals from various industries.
  • Promoting Student centric Learning. Superior teamwork among faculty and students.
  • The department hosts a number of workshops on cutting-edge technology to supplement students’ curriculum. This facilitates our students to broaden their knowledge and stay with current industry trends.
  • The department has active student chapter of professional society - CSI (Computer Society of India) which conducts various activities like seminars/webinars and contests..
  • Focusing on research, faculty members/students periodically publish their work in National / International conferences & Journals. Also submitting research proposals under various R&D funding agencies
  • Students have participated in various intercollegiate competitions, co curricular and extracurricular activities and won accolades for the department and College. Also they are encouraged to participate in NCC, NSS, YRC, RRC and other activities..
  • Training and placement activities are in routine practice through placement cell.
  • Soft skill classes, reasoning and aptitude training are regularly conducted to improve the students problem solving ability and skills. Expert lectures are arranged from the industry personnel.
  • Alumni interactions and support are continuously offered. Different companies are invited to recruit our eligible students. Lot of training programme and online tests are conducted.
  • Every year Students are undergoing internships at various companies. Many of the students are well placed in leading software companies such as Amazon,TCS,CTS, Infosys, Zoho, Wipro, etc.

Our Department has produced hundreds of professionals and has established a name for itself in the country and abroad. Technology, teaching, training are the pillars of our department, importing the latest technical knowledge to the students and cultivation, nurturing the same in the right way will make our students competent in the competitive world.

  • The Department is well equipped with state of the art laboratories with latest computing facility, Wi-Fi connectivity and power backup.
  • Permanent affiliation from Anna university, Chennai..
  • Accredited by NBA for 3 years (2025 to 2028).
  • Encourage the students to update coding skills and other technical skills by doing various courses in NPTEL, IIT Bombay Spoken tutorial and various value added courses conducted by the department.
  • Producing University Rank Holders, 53 University Rank holders so far - 27 UG and 26 PG.
  • Innovative project proposals are submitted by the students for TamilNadu State Council for Science and Technology(TNSCST) and Smart India Hackathon every year and fetched the project funds by which they can improve their coding skills.
  • Received grant of Rs.14,32,000 under AICTE –Research Promotion Scheme during the year 2021-2022
  • Students are continuously selected for grand finals in Smart India Hackathon- National level Coding contest since 2017. In the year 2020, one of the team won the contest and received 1 Lakh Cash Prize.
  • Established Industry Collaboration Lab with M/s Unipro Software Pte Ltd., (Singapore based MNC) in the year 2019.
  • Received the prestigious “Best Accredited Student Branch Award” under CSI Academic award, during CSI Annual convention held at Kolkata.
  • Received Rs.25,000 under CSI for Student State Convention in the year 2016.
  • Received Rs.1,40,000 under TNSCST to organize Capacity building for industrial needs -Student skill development program.

Programme Outcomes(POs)


By the time of graduation ,graduates will attain the following programme outcomes:

1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

3.Design / development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

4.Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
